Wearable Curiosities/Shadow Box Pendants, Repurposed Metal Pendants and Taxidermy Pieces
My original altered art wearble mini shadowbox pendants are all one of a kind. I personally hand craft each box from wood, sand the boxes, and then hand paint and/or antique them. I specially choose a theme and then mount a curiosity, taxidermy piece, or other odditity inside the box. I then solder glass onto the front and finish the piece with a pretty antiqued chain. Alot of love and time go into my pieces and I hope you will enjoy them! My hand soldered pendants are made from collage sheets and/or found vintage magazine images and hand soldered (lead-free) and patinaed and mounted on chains. My metal work is done using found objects, like copper pipe or repurposed household items. I pound, mold and create a new piece of wearable art!
Squirrel Paw Rosary

A vintage blue rosary, which was purchased by yours truly in Mazatlan, approximately 20 years ago. Mounted onto the rosary is a squirrel paw and a rusty little dog tag charm. This rosary is traditional in that it pulls over your head. Such a pretty blue color! This will look beautiful worn or displayed on your favorite alter or day of the dead figurine!
A Mended Heart

This piece was made from a repurposed brass door sill! Cut and pounded and sanded and texturized and hand rivetted, and then brass wire wrapped, its an endearing piece for all of those who have mended a broken heart before. Mounted onto a pretty 20" antiqued brass chain. The pendant measures 2.5" wide by 2" tall. Minor imperfections on this rustic piece are natural as it was hand texturized and is one of a kind!
Rock n' Roll PBR Can Necklace

This piece was made from a repurposed PBR Can! A little trailer trash exists in all of us! Brandish this great rock n' roll necklace to let everyone know that you love your PBR! It is felt backed and has two dangling red plastic anchors hanging from it. Mounted on a brass ball chain! Cute and Badass all rolled into one! (note this necklace is tin/metal, there may be some sharp edges, so be careful, it is felt backed for your protection. Also, small dents in the tin are normal and can be expected with any repurposed tin)
Victorian Cameo Charm Pendant

This piece is for the Victorian fine lady in all of us! Hanging on a double linked brass chain measuring 18" long, is a vintage filagree stamping with a vintage black and white cameo hanging proudly. Hanging from the stamping is a pretty black tassle and a brass colored "spoon" Lovely indeed!
Creepy Squirrel Heart Necklace

This piece is not for the faint of heart! Its a real squirrel heart set into resin. It has been set into a vintage silver spoon that I have repurposed. It also has real moss for a true organic feel to this piece. The squirrel heart is three dimentional and does set up from the piece, but it is protected by a resin coating. This is mouned onto a 15" silver ball chain. Want something different that not everybody has, and have a love for the taxidermy arts? Well then, this is your piece! Affordable too!
Ornately Carved Antique Brass Box , Velvet Lined with Squirrel Paw

This piece is just gorgeous! Something that Marie Antoinette would have worn! Not that old of course, but it does have a beautiful antique (perhaps Persian, I am unsure) box, which is lined in blue velvet. The ornate boxes opens and closes beautifully. Note the large blue stone (perhaps cornelian) inlaid onto the front of the box. Your little secret is when opening this enchanting box, there hangs a squirrel paw. The inspiration for this piece was Memento Mori, or remembrance of the dead (and to me this includes animals!) It hangs beautifully on the double link brass chain and note the added beauty of the two crystals on either side to accentuate this eccentric piece. Definitely one of a kind!
